More about Rebecca
How do you relax when you are outside of work?
I love spending time doing things that make my heart happy: laughing with my friends, reading a great book, getting my steps in and going for a walk and spending time with my family especially my nieces and nephew. I love to bake; muffins seem to be a specialty of mine. I have a super cute cruiser bike that I enjoy taking out for a spin.
What would you be doing if you did not pursue the career path you have right now?
When I was really little, I wanted to be a hairdresser, but I am pleased to say that that dream quickly died. I thought of becoming a teacher as I enjoy helping others learn and grow. I also thought it would be super fun to be a flight attendant as I do enjoy flying and seeing new places. But, I am so thankful that my journey has led me to becoming a counsellor and helping others live, full, happy lives.
I value connection. We are made for connection and belonging. People want to know that they matter and someone cares for them. Sadly, we live in a world that sometimes makes it difficult for people to truly to connect with one another and be heard. However, when we can take the time to really be with someone, to try and understand their experience and validate their feelings, that is when the magic of connection really happens. This is the type of world I want to live in, where people are valued for who they are and how their strengths and gifting bring diversity and colour and ultimately connection to the world.
