Reflecting on 10 years of Connection as a Counsellor
As I reach 10 years of listening and connecting with clients as a Counsellor, I reflect and celebrate with a rebrand and more intention than ever. Read about my four pillars Inclusion, Empowerment, Worth and Compassion.

Sometimes when I am with clients, they ask me if I always knew that I wanted to be a counsellor. Surprisingly, the answer is NO. I knew I wanted to help people, but I did not know exactly how. I like to say that I took the scenic route, having many different jobs that helped and supported people in schools, community, organizations and privately.
How a friend’s question changed my life
Many years ago, I was having a conversation with a work colleague, and she asked me if I could do anything in the world, what would I want to do? Without hesitation, I said I would quit my current job, go back to school, become a counsellor and help Autistic people and their families. I was surprised by how quickly I gave my reply.
My colleague challenged me asking why I was not doing that? I replied that people do not live their dreams, that is not real life. However, that question sparked something in me and that night I looked up counselling programs and I am delighted to share that 2026 marks 10 years that I have been a counsellor!
There has been many twists and turns in the past decade. It is such a privilege for me to be doing something that I am so passionate about. It has been ten years of building connections, listening to stories and being changed by the folks that I work with. Ten years of tears, joy, sadness, growth and change.
New brand, new logo, new website…same heart and intention
To celebrate this occasion, I am launching my new and beautiful website along with a brand-new logo and look. The logo of “Rebecca Farnell Counselling” reflects me and my values and was designed by Jessica Neufeld of jndesignstudio.ca.
I am proud of the counsellor I have become, and I continue to learn and grow to be able to support my clients in the best ways that I can. I am grateful for all the support I have received over these ten years. I cannot wait to see what the next ten years bring. Thank you for your trust in me and I am honored to share in your journey.
Get connected. Take the next step.
